TESLA& FRIENDS 2016. - Events - The Nikola Tesla association | Genius for the future

At the festive event at the hotel Esplanade, the gathered dignitaries from the life of science and culture, as well as the representatives of India, Serbia and USA were greeted by: Mr. Tomislav Čorić, envoy of the President of the Croatian assembly, Mrs.Slavko Kojić, envoy of the Mayor of the city of Zagreb, Mr. Ivo Josipović, Mrs.Mirela Holy, Mrs. Andrea Doko Jelušić, the Executive Director of the American chamber of Commerce in Croatia and Mrs. Dragica Mihajlović, President of the Nikola Tesla Association – genious for the future.  

Within the programme the Nikola Tesla annual awards were granted in three categories. Sara Cepić, a high school student from Sesvete, received the award in Physics and General Knowledge Quiz about Tesla. In the category of Creative and Innovative Product inspired by Tesla's inventions, Ivan Kožar from the Electronic and Accounting club from Ivanić Grad got the award for the Musical Tesla's coil, Alelksander Ivanac from Zagreb received the award in the category of Tesla's extended activities for the protection of the enviroment for the project „Nikola Tesla is our teacher“.

The program included two short panel discussions where about the subject::“160 years of the birth of Nikola Tesla“ talked the experts; Prof. Dr. Sc. Mladen Martinis, Renato Filipin, senior  curator at the Technical museum of Zagreb, Prof.Dr.Sc. Karolj Skala i Đuro Horvat, founder and owner of the company Tehnix d.o.o. and pupils and students from the Zagreb schools Sara Cepić, Marko Gajić, Matej Pranjić i Anela Šola. The new project, the feature animated film and video play “TESLA – The Invention of a Dream”  was presented by Mrs Helena Bulaja Madunić, the artist and film director, screenwriter and producer.  

The same day in the morning hours Milan Bandić, Mayor of Zagreb,  Dragica Mihajlović, President of Nikola Tesla Association and Prof. Dr. Sc.Karolj Skala form the Institute Ruđer Bošković laid flowers on the monument of Nikola Tesla in Zagreb. Traditionally, the event was closed with the symbolical release of a white dove.

The three day marking ot the Tesla's birth and Day of Nikola Tesla started on 9th of July with the Tesla's conference in Zagreb where about Tesla as scientific model spoke Prof. Dr.Sc. Mladen Martinis, Prof. Dr.Sc. Stanko Popović, Prof.Dr.Sc. Karolj Skala, Dr. Sc. Ivan Šimatović,Renato Filipin and Mirjana Prljevič, President of the organisation „Energetic innovation center TESLANIUM“. The manifestation was closed on 11th of July with the lecture and demonstration of Tesla's inventions at Technical museum „NIkola Tesla“ in Zagreb.

 

This year manifestation Tesla&friends was held under the auspicies of Mr. Željko Reiner, President of the Croatian Parlament, Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, the City of Zagreb, the Croatian Commission for UNESCO, the Tourist Board of Zagreb and Croatia.
