ZAGREB, 11th July 2019. – At the Croatian Chamber of commerce – Chamber of Zagreb, was held the conference „Tesla in Zagreb“ whose subjet this year was “Tesla from Smiljan to New York:Tesla`s Journey“. The conference „Tesla in Zagreb“ is one of the programmes of manifestation Tesla&friends, which was at the occasion of anniversary of birth of Nikola Tesla and Day of Nikola Tesla – the day of science, technology and innovation in Republic of Croatia jubilee 10. year in a row organized by the Nikola Tesla association, Genius for the future.The goal of this year International conference Tesla in Zagreb is to present the cultural, scientific and turistic projects in the countries in which Nikola Tesla stayed and worked,and which are inspired with his work and activity, from his homeland Croatia across Serbia, Czech Republic, Austria, France until he United States of America and in this way to establich the international cooperation.
With the conference Tesla in Zagreb 2019 with the appropirate title “Tesla from Smiljan to New York:Tesla`s Journey“ we presented succesfull projects in the country and in the region, inspired by Tesla, in which is directly improved the cultural, scientific and touristic life of the country and single countries.
The lecturer Markita Franulić, Director of the Technical Museum Nikola Telsa presented the project of new permanent exhibition of the great man of science and innovatin who were born/or were active in Croatia, Manuela Graf, President of the Board at the Cluster of Cultural Routes and PhD researcher at the University in Gießen, Germany, explained the importance of the route of Tesla's journey, which connects all countries in which Nikola Tesla lived, worked and left the trace.
This cultural tourist product promotes the science and industrial, especially areas like renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and information technology.
Prof. dr. sc. Nedjeljko Perić regular professor and principal of the institution Inovation center Nikola Tesla – ICENT explained the role of ICENT in technological mondernising of economy and he emphasized the need of building of Croatian scientific and inovative eco-system and his integrity into european innovative eco-system. He presented also the new Mobile aplication abotu the journeys of Nikola Tesla which was made on the initiative of the Nikola Tesla association, Genius for the future.
Prof. Snježana Štranjgar, the Principal of the Karlovac gymnasium where Tesla studied and where he graduated from high school. She showed in what the ways the school pay honor to Nikola Tesla and how it stimulates the young scientist to be innovative. Slavomír Goga, mag. oec. Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Croatia.
His lecture focused on all elements which tie Nikola Tesla to Czech Republic, from the time of Tesla's education until the present day. Mr.sc. Andrea Doko Jelušić, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce at his lecture presented Tesla s acting in the USA and his last years of life in New York. Helena Bulaja Madunić, from REAL GROUP, is creative author and producer of the awarded multimedia educative projects which promote and connect the art, literature and science. The lecturer presented 2. edition of the exhibition „Nikola Tesla – Mind from the Future“ in Budapest as an example of the original Croatian cultural - scientific product.
The present enthusiasts of Nikola Tesla, were appropriatelly greeted by:, Dr. Zlatan Fröhlich President of Zagreb Chamber of Economy, Mrs. Helena Beus is Head of Government Office for Cooperation with NGOs, Mr. Božo Skoko, an associate professor of public relations at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb and Mrs. Katarina Milković, mayors' s deputy and Dragica Mihajlović, President of Nikola Tesla Association.
Manifestation Tesla&friends 2019. was held under the auspices of Mrs. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Predsident of Republic of Croatia, Mr. Gordan Jandroković, the President of the Croatian Parliament, Ministry of science and education of Republic of Croatia, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Croatia, Zagreb Tourist board, higher education institution Rochester Institute of Technology Croatia, Croatian Chamber Of Commerce, Chamber of Zagreb and The Croatian Commission for UNESCO and City of Zagreb, which is the sponsor and partner the event.
